Life has made us all stand still. I mean seriously stand the fuck still. Even if you are one of the lucky ones to still have your health intact, your job still viable, a home you can still afford and a bank account that hasn’t been frozen then I am sure the word ‘grateful’ is your new daily mantra.
This is not an easy time for humanity.
Every road I used to ‘escape’ down has a dead end now and there is nothing else to do other than stop and just be.
Financially. Emotionally. Physically. Just be.
This is both frustrating and liberating. Frightening and enjoyable. Confusing yet obvious.
Oh, the duality of life!
And no matter how hard I try to fight my way out, it just is what it is and, just being, is all there is. For now at least.
For the most part, I accept it.
And the signs along the way, tell me that I’m exactly where I’m meant to be in this universe right now.
You know those signs I am talking about, right?
Taking Note of My Signs
Netflix T-Shirt
I love the quote ‘Stay In Your Lane’. It speaks volumes to me on a variety of levels but bottom line it means to me – focus on how to be better and stop with the judging of others. Use all your energy to be a first class version of yourself! So, last night while watching ‘Dead to Me’ on Netflix, one of the main characters entered stage right wearing a t-shirt that said, ‘I’m In My Lane’. Noted universe, I got it.
The Etsy Seller
I was gifted some Calendula seeds with a recent purchase of a beautiful handmade headband from a seller on Etsy. I planted them in my garden. The next morning, I opened my work computer and my ‘Hebrew Word of the Day’ was ‘seed’. Noted universe, I got it.
Kids School Supplies
I had sold everything I could at the time (long story for another time) in order to get my children’s school equipment. I had 1,335 shekels. Stood at the cash desk, the bill totalled 1,435 shekels. Remembering I had a credit note for this store, I dug in my purse and found it. It was for 100 shekels. Noted universe, I got it.
I can go on …..
The car registration in front of you that reflects back digits you’re familiar with.
The 100 shekel note you find when out for an early morning run.
The song that fits the moment perfectly….the words written just for you.
The person you see when you need to see that person.
The exact change in your purse when you stop for coffee.
The dress you wanted 2 seasons ago, found in the outlet half price…in your size (woo hoo!!).
The phone call that comes just in time to save you from slumping into a depression.
The ‘Quote of the Day’ perfectly summing up a life lesson you need.
The Snow Angel appears just when they are meant to.
The shooting star at the very moment you look up to the night sky asking the question, will everything be OK?
Noted universe, I got it.
The Take Home
I see these signs everywhere. And I love them!
They act as a helpful reminder I’m on the right track and I am exactly where I am meant to be.
And in truth, not everything has stopped. Life still magically unfolds in some way. Whatever the challenge, we are all still growing and changing and becoming.
Trusting in what you can’t see versus all that you can is not easy but, this is my anchor, and it’s strong. This is just how it’s meant to be. For now.
As hard as it may be to accept where we find ourselves, taking joy and being grateful for the little things – even if it is the vital signs of life – can help make the journey that little bit sweeter.
Noted universe, I got it!!
